Alpaca fleece has beautiful colour variations throughout giving it a more natural look. This fibre is particularly stunning with its wide range of colours. Each 10g bundle of fibre will include light, mid and dark sections of this stunning fleece! 🥰

I wash, sanitise and condition all my fibre multiple times to produce hair of the highest quality. Each bundle is brushed out several times to remove the shorter fibres. This means all the fibre is useable, from the tip right through to the cut end as the fibre under the band is also fully washed.

I band my fibre into smaller sections to create easy-to-handle bundles, this helps to reduce waste as you are not trying to separate hair from bigger bundles and losing half of it in the process. Alpaca fibres comes in a variety of microns but I tend to prefer an average of 23-28 microns which is between kid and yearling Mohair. At this thickness, even if you end up with more than 1 hair in each hole it will not look ‘pluggy’, as each hair is a lot finer than yearling Mohair. Human hair is around 80microns so this will give you an idea of how much finer Alpaca is. 🤗

Even if you prefer to use Mohair on Reborn baby dolls, you will find that Alpaca is the perfect option for those fine hairs around the hairline, for the eyelashes and eyebrows, and also for lanugo, those sweet wispy hairs some babies have on their face. 🥰

This ready-to-use fibre would make lovely hair for many types of dolls including Reborn Baby dolls, BJD’s, Blythe, MH and Minifee. It would also be suitable for Needle felted animals, and as faux hair for Prosthetic makeup and special effects. The fibre is naturally Blonde so there is no concern over dye bleed. It would undoubtedly produce the most divine baby soft hair. ❤️
